Embody
Your Body.
Crawl inside yourself and ask what is
this lump of flesh and bone that you carry around with
you every day? Your friend? Your foe? How does it feel
to walk around in the skin of you and interact with
the world? Probably not something you think about too
often. I invite you to now. Your body is much more than
skin and bones and fleshy parts. It is a vast storehouse
of energy, vitality, imaginations, expressions, memories,
longings, loves...
How can you keep accessing all these wonderful
things?
Just Keep Moving.
In life when we find ourselves in situations
where we feel stuck or meeting resistance there is only
one thing we can do. Move. Move for the purpose of movement.
Move to unlodge the rigidity and heaviness of the structures
we build around ourselves. Move to fan the fires of
our passions, move to let creativity flow. Stuck only
becomes unstuck when we move.
And when we can move and truely in our
bodies, with all of our feelings alive and awake we
can...
Connect With Others.
Being aware of "Self" allows
us to be more present with others. Movement gives us
a chance to be present with ourselves first which opens
the pathway to deeper and more meaningful relationships
all around us. We find through movment that we can gain
a greater understanding of ourselves in time and space.
What is our cadence, what is our flow?
Are we leaders or followers? Can we be both? How do
I feel moving alone. How do I feel moving with others?
Am I moving? Am I stuck?
And so I ask you...
When
did you stop moving?
It's never too late to start.
"The first thing that has to happen is we
have to free the body from all its conditioning in
a very literal way. We need to physically free the
body, wake it up and get it back into motion and fluidity.
As soon as that happens we start to feel, our emotional
world is enlivened and we begin to deal with our fears,
our angers, our sorrows and our joys. We get a feeling
of what compassion might be about. We learn to express
the heart, to get to know the wilderness of the heart
and to learn how to express it in creative forms,
so that we can be spontaneous and authentic in the
moment with each other" - Gabriel Roth
